Robert Kenyon Named Reform UK Candidate for Makerfield By-Election 2026

Reform UK has officially announced Robert Kenyon, a self-employed individual, as its candidate for the forthcoming by-election in the parliamentary constituency of Makerfield. This election is set to take place in June 2026, following the resignation of the sitting MP, Simons.

The vacancy arose after Simons stepped down to provide an opportunity for Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham to contest the seat. Burnham, a prominent figure in the Labour Party, is among the key contenders expected to vie for this parliamentary position.

In addition to Kenyon and Burnham, three other candidates have been confirmed to participate in the by-election. Alan “Howlin” Laud Hope will represent the Official Monster Raving Loony Party, while Rebecca Shepherd will stand for Restore Britain. The competition is shaping up to be diverse, reflecting a range of political perspectives.

This by-election is significant as it will determine representation for the Makerfield constituency, a region with a dynamic political landscape. The upcoming contest is anticipated to attract considerable attention from both local voters and national observers, given the high-profile nature of some candidates and the strategic importance of the seat.
