On Sunday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a significant telephone conversation with His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, the President of the Republic of Indonesia. This interaction was marked by warmth and mutual respect, reflecting the longstanding friendship between the two nations. During the call, the Prime Minister extended his heartfelt Eid-ul-Fitr greetings not only to President Subianto but also to the entire Indonesian population, celebrating the spirit of unity and goodwill that this festive occasion represents.

The Indonesian President responded with equal warmth, reciprocating the Eid wishes and emphasizing the deep-rooted brotherhood that exists between Pakistan and Indonesia. Both leaders took this opportunity to express their sincere prayers for peace and harmony, not only within their own countries but also across the broader Muslim Ummah. This exchange underscored the shared values and cultural bonds that continue to unite the two Muslim-majority nations.

During their conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the historic and fraternal relationship with Indonesia. He highlighted the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation across a wide range of sectors, including trade, defense, education, and cultural exchange. The Prime Minister expressed his determination to build on the existing foundation of friendship, aiming to foster closer ties that benefit both countries and their peoples.

In addition to discussing bilateral matters, the two leaders exchanged views on pressing regional issues, with particular focus on the ongoing conflicts in Iran and the Gulf region. Both President Subianto and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif voiced their concern over the escalating hostilities and emphasized the urgent need for dialogue and diplomatic efforts to resolve these tensions. They jointly called for an immediate cessation of violence, stressing that peace and stability in the region are vital for the prosperity of all neighboring countries.

This conversation between the leaders of Pakistan and Indonesia not only reinforced their mutual respect and cooperation but also highlighted their shared vision for a peaceful and collaborative future. As two influential Muslim-majority nations, their partnership continues to play a crucial role in promoting regional stability and fostering economic and cultural ties that contribute to the well-being of their citizens.
