ISLAMABAD: The Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs of Pakistan has firmly dismissed recent rumors suggesting that the country might halt or postpone Hajj flights for the upcoming 2026 pilgrimage season. These claims, which have been widely circulated on various social media platforms, were described by ministry officials as completely unfounded and misleading.

In a detailed statement released on Sunday, the ministry’s spokesperson emphasized that all preparations for the Hajj operation are progressing smoothly and are aligned with the current international circumstances. The spokesperson reassured prospective pilgrims that no official decision has been taken to suspend or delay flights to Saudi Arabia, the host country for the annual Islamic pilgrimage.

It is important to note that the Hajj pilgrimage is a significant religious obligation for millions of Muslims worldwide, including a large number from Pakistan. Every year, the government undertakes extensive logistical planning to facilitate the safe and efficient travel of pilgrims to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. This includes arranging flights, accommodations, transportation, and other essential services.

Looking ahead, the ministry confirmed that the comprehensive flight schedule for Hajj 2026 will be officially announced shortly after the conclusion of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations. Officials are currently engaged in finalizing all necessary arrangements, including securing lodging facilities for Pakistani pilgrims in both Makkah and Madinah. These preparations are critical to ensure a smooth and comfortable pilgrimage experience.

Furthermore, the ministry expressed confidence that all operational details will be completed well in advance of the pilgrimage season, despite ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Pilgrims were strongly advised to rely solely on verified information disseminated through official government channels, such as the ministry’s website and the Pak Hajj mobile application, to avoid confusion caused by misinformation.

In summary, while regional uncertainties have raised concerns among some prospective pilgrims, Pakistan’s Religious Affairs Ministry remains committed to facilitating the Hajj journey without interruption. The government continues to monitor the situation closely and is prepared to take necessary measures to safeguard the interests of its citizens undertaking this sacred journey.
