The University of Karachi has announced the postponement of all examinations that were scheduled for March 2, 2026. This decision comes as part of a broader suspension of academic activities at the institution, prompted by the prevailing security situation in Karachi. The university administration has assured students that the new dates for the deferred exams will be communicated in due course, urging everyone to stay updated through official channels.

In an official statement released by the Registrar, it was confirmed that all classes on the specified date would be cancelled. The move is not only a precautionary measure in light of safety concerns but also a symbolic gesture of solidarity with the martyrs of Iran. This expression of support reflects the university’s commitment to standing alongside international causes that resonate with its community.

Alongside the University of Karachi’s announcement, other prominent educational institutions have also adjusted their schedules in response to current events. The International Islamic University Islamabad has shifted its classes to an online format for the day, ensuring that academic progress continues despite the disruptions. Similarly, Quaid-i-Azam University declared a holiday on March 2, allowing students and staff a day off amid the tense atmosphere.

These coordinated responses highlight the sensitivity of academic institutions to both security challenges and socio-political developments. University officials have emphasized the importance of monitoring official notifications closely, as further updates regarding exam rescheduling and class arrangements will be shared promptly. Students are encouraged to remain vigilant and maintain communication with their respective departments to avoid missing critical information.

Overall, the temporary suspension of classes and exams at the University of Karachi, along with adjustments at other universities, underscores the impact of external factors on academic calendars. It also demonstrates the educational sector’s responsiveness to ensuring the safety of students and staff while acknowledging significant regional events. As the situation evolves, institutions are expected to provide timely guidance to minimize disruption and support their academic communities effectively.
