The University of Karachi has announced the postponement of all examinations originally scheduled for March 2, 2026. This decision comes as part of a broader suspension of academic activities at the institution, prompted by the current security challenges facing the city. University officials have confirmed that the rescheduling of exams will be communicated to students once new dates have been finalized.

In an official statement released by the Registrar’s office, it was made clear that all classes planned for the day will be cancelled. This move is not only a precautionary measure due to the unstable security environment but also serves as a gesture of solidarity with the martyrs of Iran. The university administration expressed its condolences and respect, highlighting the importance of standing united in times of regional turmoil.

Alongside the University of Karachi, other prominent institutions have taken similar steps. The International Islamic University Islamabad has transitioned its classes to an online format for the day, ensuring that students can continue their studies remotely without interruption. Meanwhile, Quaid-i-Azam University has declared a holiday, allowing students and staff a day off in light of the ongoing situation.

Students across these universities have been urged to remain vigilant and regularly check official channels for updates regarding the revised academic schedule. University authorities emphasized their commitment to maintaining the safety and well-being of their students and staff while minimizing disruption to the academic calendar.

This collective response by major educational institutions reflects the heightened sensitivity towards security concerns in Karachi and other parts of the country. It also underscores the universities’ recognition of broader geopolitical events and their impact on the academic community. As the situation develops, further announcements are expected to provide clarity on when normal academic activities will resume.
