A motorcyclist was apprehended in Karachi after being accused of performing an obscene act directed at women inside a bus on Rashid Minhas Road. The incident occurred on June 19 and was captured by bystanders on their mobile phones, with the footage quickly spreading across social media platforms.
The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Arsalan, reportedly attempted to hide his identity by wearing a mask and covering his motorcycle’s number plate before carrying out the act. Following the viral circulation of the video, law enforcement launched an extensive search operation, sharing the suspect’s images with local informants and reviewing CCTV recordings from multiple locations.
Authorities tracked Arsalan’s movements from Rashid Minhas Road to Federal B Area, ultimately arresting him in the Jauharabad neighborhood of Karachi. He was detained during a raid at his residence and subsequently taken to the Jauharabad police station. A formal case has been registered against him, and an official investigation is underway.
After his arrest, police released a video statement in which Arsalan admitted to the offense and issued an apology. However, investigators emphasized that the apology holds no legal weight. Law enforcement officials are collecting all available evidence, including CCTV footage from the scene, to ensure the suspect is prosecuted and receives the maximum penalty allowed by law.
