An explosion triggered by a suspected gas leak at the hostel of Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) in Peshawar on Sunday resulted in injuries to three individuals, hospital officials confirmed. The blast created panic among residents, prompting an immediate response from hospital administration and emergency teams.

The injured were quickly transferred to the Burn and Plastic Surgery Centre for urgent medical care. A spokesperson for the medical complex stated that the explosion likely originated from a gas leak inside one of the hostel rooms.

Rescue and hospital staff arrived promptly at the scene to provide assistance and ensure the injured received specialized treatment without delay. While the exact condition of the injured has not been publicly disclosed, officials confirmed they are undergoing appropriate medical care.

Following initial treatment, the victims were shifted to the Burn and Plastic Surgery Centre for further management. Medical teams remained on high alert, and emergency protocols were activated throughout the hospital premises. As a precaution, other hostel residents were relocated to safer areas to prevent further harm.

In a significant development, the hospital administration has initiated an inquiry to ascertain the precise cause of the explosion. Preliminary findings point to a gas leak as the probable cause, though other possibilities have not been excluded. A thorough inspection of the affected room and surrounding hostel areas is underway to evaluate structural safety and prevent future incidents.

Hospital management has assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to safeguard patients, staff, and residents within the facility.
