The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Authority announced that over 1.164 million tourists visited the province during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, underscoring KP’s rising status as a prominent travel destination.

Swat emerged as the top choice for visitors, drawing approximately 333,000 tourists throughout the festive period. Naran also remained a favored spot, attracting 172,000 travelers, while Galiyat welcomed around 110,000 local tourists.

In a significant development, the Tourism Authority noted that 166 foreign tourists explored various locations across KP during Eid, highlighting the region’s growing appeal on the international stage.

The former tribal areas also experienced a remarkable influx of visitors, with 394,000 local tourists visiting FATA. South Waziristan attracted 144,000 tourists, and lesser-known destinations such as the Orakzai district saw a notable rise in tourism, hosting 92,000 visitors during the holiday season.

This surge in tourist activity is a promising indicator for the local tourism sector. It is expected to stimulate economic growth throughout the province and generate new employment opportunities, benefiting communities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
