Kristen Stewart Eyes Ambitious Directing Projects Including Twilight Reboot

Kristen Stewart is shifting her focus from acting to directing, aiming to make a significant impact behind the camera. After her directorial debut with The Chronology of Water, she is already envisioning larger and more daring projects. Notably, Stewart has expressed interest in revisiting the Twilight saga, but with a fresh, transformative approach rather than nostalgic fan service.

She remarked on the potential of such a project, imagining the possibilities if supported by a substantial budget and genuine enthusiasm. “I would love to readapt. I’m doing it. I’m committed,” she declared, signaling her determination to reinvent the story on her own terms.

Having learned from acclaimed directors like Pablo Larraín and Catherine Hardwicke, Stewart is ready to challenge conventional filmmaking norms. Alongside her blockbuster ambitions, she is also planning a highly independent film. “I need 10 people to help make this movie with me in Los Angeles… I don’t need to make any money. We will make this in the dead of night and nobody will know it. F–king try to shut us down,” she said, emphasizing her desire for creative freedom without studio interference or compromises.

Looking ahead to 2026, Stewart anticipates a busy year filled with acting commitments, including projects linked to Amazon, while simultaneously pursuing her directing goals. “I want to make my next movie so badly,” she admitted, adding that she is ready to move forward rather than dwell on past work. Her resolve suggests that Hollywood may soon witness a new chapter in her career, one defined by bold choices and artistic independence.
