In a significant development late Monday evening, the federal government announced an upward revision in the prices of petrol and diesel. This decision follows the latest notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), which regularly reviews and adjusts petroleum product rates based on market conditions and international oil prices.

the new notification, the price of petrol has been raised by 39 paisas per litre, pushing the retail cost to Rs341.98 per litre. Meanwhile, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has seen a more substantial increase of Rs2.40 per litre, bringing its new price to Rs370.06 per litre. These adjustments reflect ongoing fluctuations in global oil markets and domestic economic considerations.

The revised fuel prices are set to take effect from midnight tonight and will remain in force until the next scheduled review. This price hike is expected to impact transportation costs and could have broader implications for inflation and the cost of goods across the country. The government and regulatory authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to balance market stability and consumer affordability.

Consumers and businesses are advised to prepare for the new rates, which mark the latest change in the dynamic fuel pricing landscape. The government’s announcement underscores the challenges faced in managing energy resources amid volatile international oil prices and domestic economic pressures.
