A murder case has been registered against two men in Multan over the death of a 15-year-old boy who was hit by a car in a private housing society. The first information report (FIR) was filed at DHA Police Station on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Liaquat Ali, naming Tauqeer Nazir and Amjad Ali as suspects. A video containing an account from one of the suspects and from eyewitnesses has also appeared on social media.
The FIR alleges that the suspects deliberately drove a car at the teenager, Waseem Abbas, with the intent to kill him. Police, citing their own account, said Waseem’s head hit a house pillar and was crushed. The document further states that the suspects tried to flee when the vehicle would not restart. Police said an eyewitness detained Tauqeer Nazir at the scene, while the second suspect escaped.
Suspect’s video offers a conflicting version
A video circulating online carries an account attributed to Tauqeer that presents a different version of events. In it, Tauqeer claimed Waseem had left the work site after ignoring his instructor, and that the teenager had run away before and been brought back. According to Tauqeer, the vehicle slipped while they were trying to block Waseem’s path.
Police have not confirmed this account, and the FIR treats the incident as an intentional killing. Officers are investigating the circumstances, including the conflicting accounts over whether the car hit Waseem accidentally or was deliberately driven at him.

Teen had been sent to learn electrical work
The administration of a private orphanage said Waseem had lived at the facility and had recently been sent to learn electrical work under contractor Tauqeer. His cousin Nadeem, who also lives there, said Waseem had been at the orphanage for six years. Nadeem said Waseem sometimes told him he did not want to work as an electrician and wanted to return home instead.
Nadeem added that Waseem had stopped regularly returning to the orphanage after he began the electrical work. He said he did not personally know Tauqeer and had never met him. Waseem’s maternal grandfather, who had enrolled the boy in the orphanage and madrassa hoping for a better education and future, spoke to the media and demanded justice and accountability.
Funeral held in Mauza Daulatpur after late-night prayers
Waseem’s funeral prayers were offered late at night in Mauza Daulatpur, after which he was buried in the family’s ancestral graveyard. According to those associated with the orphanage, the funeral took place soon after the body was received, due to its condition. Only close relatives and orphanage representatives attended the prayers.
