At least seven Palestinians lost their lives in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, with five casualties reported in an attack at the Maghazi refugee camp and two others killed in a separate strike targeting a vehicle in southern Gaza, medics confirmed.
Witnesses and medical personnel stated that a missile launched from a drone struck a group of people who had emerged from their homes in the Maghazi camp, located in central Gaza. This incident occurred after an Israeli-backed Palestinian militia attempted to enter the area. The attack resulted in five deaths and multiple injuries. The Israeli military has yet to issue a response regarding this event.
Later the same day, another Israeli airstrike targeted a vehicle in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, killing two individuals and injuring others. The Israeli military described this as a “targeted operation” but did not provide additional information.
These attacks come amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding ceasefire arrangements in Gaza. Indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas remain stalled, particularly over the implementation of the next phase of a U.S.-brokered agreement.
Medical officials report that the death toll from Israeli strikes in Gaza has continued to rise since the ceasefire took effect, with hundreds of Palestinians killed in various incidents throughout the territory. The Israeli military maintains that its operations aim to prevent attacks and target militants, while Hamas accuses Israel of repeatedly breaching the ceasefire.
The situation on the ground remains highly unstable, with sporadic strikes occurring in different parts of Gaza and armed groups continuing to operate in contested zones. Meanwhile, indirect talks between Israel and Hamas on issues such as disarmament and Israeli troop withdrawals have seen little progress.
Gaza health authorities state that hundreds of Palestinians have died since the ceasefire began, though these figures do not differentiate between civilians and combatants. The Israeli military has also reported casualties among its soldiers due to militant attacks during the same period.
