This incident occurred after an Israeli-backed Palestinian militia attempted to enter the area. The attack resulted in five deaths and multiple injuries. The Israeli military has yet to issue a response regarding this event.
Later the same day, another Israeli airstrike targeted a vehicle in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, killing two individuals and injuring others. The Israeli military described this as a “targeted operation” but did not provide additional information.
These attacks come amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding ceasefire arrangements in Gaza. Indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas remain stalled, particularly over the implementation of the next phase of a U.S.-brokered agreement.
Medical officials report that the death toll from Israeli strikes in Gaza has continued to rise since the ceasefire took effect, with hundreds of Palestinians killed in various incidents throughout the territory.
