Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to deepening its longstanding and fraternal relations with Indonesia, particularly in defence and security sectors. This commitment was emphasized during his meeting with Indonesia’s Naval Chief, Admiral Dr Muhammad Ali, at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Monday.
Admiral Ali praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and recognized their significant role in maintaining regional peace and stability. The discussions covered issues of mutual interest, regional security challenges, and bilateral defence cooperation. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the current military-to-military relations and pledged to enhance collaboration, focusing on professional training, defence partnerships, and joint military exercises.
In a separate engagement, Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Al Hajjar met with Field Marshal Munir at GHQ during his two-day visit to Pakistan. The meeting involved exchanging views on shared interests, the evolving security landscape in the region, and opportunities to strengthen bilateral security ties.
Both leaders highlighted the importance of reinforcing institutional connections and expanding cooperation between their respective security agencies. Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to bolster relations with Lebanon and expressed eagerness to broaden mutually advantageous collaboration in areas of common concern. Minister Al Hajjar commended Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and stability and acknowledged the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in combating terrorism.
