Bilawal Bhutto Pledges PPP Will Transform Azad Kashmir in Upcoming Polls

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pledged at a Mirpur gathering on Wednesday to enhance the political representation of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in parliament. He emphasized the significance of the forthcoming elections, describing them as the most crucial polls for the region’s future, and called on the people to unite for progress and prosperity.

Addressing his supporters, Bilawal remarked that returning to Mirpur felt like coming back to a second home, highlighting the Bhutto family’s three-generation-long bond with the city. He expressed optimism that the leadership would continue to serve Mirpur’s residents and promote their development.

Reflecting on the PPP’s historical contributions, Bilawal noted that former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was instrumental in establishing Pakistan’s unanimous constitution and initiating the country’s nuclear program. He pointed out that Pakistan remains the only nuclear-armed nation in the Islamic world.

In a significant development, Bilawal credited President Asif Ali Zardari with completing the late Benazir Bhutto’s unfinished agenda by securing the 18th Constitutional Amendment, which marked a milestone in Pakistan’s political history.

Looking ahead, Bilawal vowed that the PPP and its supporters would collaborate to create a new legacy and secure a brighter future for Azad Kashmir. He asserted that history would remember the PPP for granting ownership rights to the people of Kashmir, underscoring the party’s commitment to the region’s empowerment.
