Four More Terrorists Killed in Balochistan, Total Reaches 121 Since July 5

Four additional terrorists were killed in a recent operation in Balochistan, bringing the total number of militants eliminated in Operation Shaban to 83. Since July 5, the combined efforts of Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across the province have resulted in the deaths of 121 militants.

The operation, a joint effort by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, and Balochistan Police, was initiated following a deadly attack on the Mangi Dam police station in Ziarat. Security forces have emphasized that the campaign will persist until every militant threat is neutralized.

Just a day prior, eight more terrorists were killed during fresh operations in the region. Authorities also recovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition from the slain militants, including M4 rifles, submachine guns, rocket launchers, mobile phones, and other equipment.

In recent weeks, three major terrorist attacks in Balochistan claimed the lives of 42 individuals, comprising both security personnel and civilians. ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry noted that India-backed terrorists had attacked a checkpoint, but police forces responded with valor, killing 15 militants during the initial confrontation. Nine police officers were martyred in the fighting, and militants took some personnel hostage before reinforcements arrived.

Pakistan has experienced a rise in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since the Afghan Taliban assumed power in 2021. In retaliation, Pakistan launched Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, targeting terrorist hideouts across the border, resulting in the deaths of numerous Afghan Taliban operatives and injuring many others.

Despite multiple rounds of negotiations, both countries have failed to reach a consensus, largely due to the Afghan Taliban regime’s unwillingness to take action against terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory.
