The Pakistani military successfully intercepted and destroyed four drones launched by the Afghan Taliban along the Balochistan border, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Wednesday. The military described the drones as “rudimentary” and linked their deployment to the Taliban’s backing of terrorist groups operating from territories under their control.

Relations between Islamabad and Kabul have worsened as the Taliban regime continues to support militants who carry out cross-border attacks, resulting in casualties among Pakistani civilians and security forces. Demonstrating a high level of operational readiness, Pakistan’s advanced air defense system promptly detected the hostile drones and neutralized all four using sophisticated countermeasures.

the ISPR, the swift and effective response successfully thwarted these malicious attempts. The military noted that such tactics by the Afghan Taliban are intended to mislead the Afghan population suffering under their oppressive rule. The ISPR urged the Taliban to recognize that their reckless actions only exacerbate the hardships faced by the Afghan people.

Instead of attempting to pacify their population through such maneuvers and empty rhetoric, the Taliban should abandon their sponsorship of terrorism and commit to peaceful coexistence. The ISPR warned that if provocations against Pakistan persist, the Taliban would face a strong and costly response. The Pakistan Armed Forces remain vigilant and fully prepared to defend every inch of the country.

Any cross-border provocations or threats to Pakistan’s sovereignty will continue to be met with swift, decisive, and overwhelming force under Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq. Notably, terror activities in Pakistan have surged since the Taliban assumed power in 2021.

In a recent development, Pakistan’s Foreign Office issued a demarche to the Afghan Charge d’Affaires following a terrorist attack on a Pakistan Rangers camp in Karachi, which resulted in the martyrdom of three Rangers personnel. Afghan nationals, including one captured alive, were involved in the attack, further confirming that Afghan soil and nationals are being used to orchestrate terrorist operations inside Pakistan.
