The Punjab government has unveiled a plan to award 460 scholarships to students from Balochistan, inviting applications under the Punjab Education Endowment Fund. This initiative has been warmly received by the people of Balochistan, who expressed their appreciation to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for the support.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti highlighted that this collaboration between Punjab and Balochistan opens new avenues for quality education. He emphasized that the scholarship program marks a crucial step in expanding educational opportunities, raising standards, and ensuring equitable access for deserving students.

Bugti further noted that children from disadvantaged backgrounds will now have the chance to study at premier educational institutions across Pakistan. He affirmed that Balochistan is advancing on its development path and stressed that quality education is a fundamental right for every child.

In a significant development earlier this year, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a $1 billion investment in Pakistan’s artificial intelligence sector by 2030. Speaking at the inaugural session of Indus AI Week, the prime minister outlined plans to create a strong AI ecosystem nationwide. This includes integrating AI into the curriculum of all federally run schools and offering 1,000 fully funded PhD scholarships in AI to students across the country by 2030.

Additionally, the government will launch a comprehensive program to train one million non-IT professionals in AI skills, aiming to enhance productivity and improve livelihoods throughout Pakistan.
