    Baku to Host 13th World Urban Forum in 2026, Spotlight on Housing and Climate Resilience

    The vibrant city of Baku, Azerbaijan’s capital, has been selected to host the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), scheduled to take place from May 17 to May 22, 2026. This prestigious international event gathers a diverse group of stakeholders, including global leaders, urban planners, policymakers, and experts, all united by the common goal of addressing pressing challenges in urban development. The forum will place particular emphasis on critical themes such as housing accessibility and climate resilience, which have become increasingly urgent in today’s rapidly urbanizing world.

    Renowned for its striking blend of contemporary architecture and rich historical heritage, Baku offers a unique setting along the Caspian Sea for this global gathering. The city’s rapid transformation over recent decades exemplifies how urban planning can successfully merge innovation with tradition. This backdrop will serve as an inspiring example as participants explore the future of cities amid mounting pressures from population growth, environmental changes, and social inequalities.

    The timing of WUF13 is especially significant given the widespread housing crises faced by millions worldwide.
