Security Forces Eliminate 13 India-Backed Terrorists in Multiple Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Operations

In a significant development in Pakistan’s ongoing fight against terrorism, security forces successfully neutralized 13 terrorists linked to India in five separate intelligence-based operations conducted across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). These operations, carried out over the nights of March 6 and 7, underscore the military’s continued commitment to dismantling terror networks that threaten the country’s stability and security.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of Pakistan’s armed forces, highlighted that these high-intensity, intelligence-driven missions were part of a broader, relentless counterterrorism campaign aimed at eradicating foreign-sponsored militancy. One of the key engagements took place in Bajaur District, where security forces pinpointed a terrorist hideout. Following a fierce exchange of fire, five terrorists were killed, effectively disrupting their planned activities in the region.

Further operations in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan districts resulted in the elimination of three additional terrorists. Meanwhile, two more encounters in Khyber and South Waziristan districts led to the deaths of five militants. The recovered weapons and ammunition from these terrorists confirmed their active involvement in numerous violent incidents, with clear backing from Indian intelligence agencies. These findings reinforce concerns over cross-border interference and the use of Pakistan’s border areas as safe havens for hostile elements.

In the aftermath of these successful raids, security forces have intensified sanitization efforts to root out any remaining terrorists sponsored by foreign entities. The ISPR emphasized that this operation is part of the broader “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative, a strategic vision that unites Pakistan’s military and law enforcement agencies in a coordinated campaign to eliminate terrorism from the country once and for all. The resolve of Pakistan’s security apparatus remains steadfast in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and protecting its citizens from the scourge of terrorism.

These intelligence-based operations come at a time when Pakistan faces escalating security challenges along its western borders, particularly with Afghanistan. Since the Taliban’s return to power in 2021, there has been a noticeable surge in cross-border terrorist activities, especially in KP and Balochistan provinces. In response, Pakistan launched “Operation Ghazab lil-Haq,” a comprehensive offensive targeting militant hideouts and fighters across the border. This operation has reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 527 Afghan Taliban militants, with many more injured, alongside the destruction of numerous enemy checkposts and military equipment.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar recently detailed the operation’s impact, noting the capture of 38 enemy posts and the elimination of 205 tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery guns. Prior to this, Pakistan had also targeted seven terrorist camps belonging to groups such as Fitna al Khawarij (FAK), its affiliates, and Daesh-Khorasan in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar, Paktika, and Khost provinces. These airstrikes reportedly killed over 80 militants, marking a decisive blow to terrorist infrastructure in the region.

It is important to recall that tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan escalated in October 2025 when unprovoked attacks by the Afghan Taliban and allied militants on Pakistani border posts led to fierce clashes. These confrontations resulted in the deaths of more than 200 Taliban fighters and affiliated militants, while Pakistan mourned the loss of 23 soldiers who laid down their lives defending the country’s frontiers. Despite multiple rounds of diplomatic talks, a lasting agreement remains elusive, largely due to the Afghan Taliban regime’s reluctance to take decisive action against terrorist groups operating from its soil.

As Pakistan continues to face these complex security challenges, the recent operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa demonstrate the country’s unwavering determination to confront and dismantle terrorist networks. The combined efforts of intelligence agencies, military forces, and law enforcement underline a comprehensive approach to national security, aiming to restore peace and stability to the region.
