Iran Vows to Maintain Self-Defense Amid Rising Tensions with US and Israel

Seyed Ali Mousavi, Iran’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, has reiterated Tehran’s firm stance on safeguarding its sovereignty in the face of perceived external threats. Speaking candidly, Mousavi highlighted that Iran’s reactions and defensive measures are contingent upon the moves and provocations of the United States and Israel, two countries Tehran frequently cites as sources of regional instability.

This declaration comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, where Iran has been under intense scrutiny over its nuclear program and military activities. The ambassador’s remarks underscore Tehran’s position that any aggressive actions against it will be met with proportionate responses, signaling a readiness to protect national interests at all costs.

It is important to understand that Iran views its defense strategy as reactive rather than proactive, emphasizing that its policies are shaped by the behavior of foreign powers. Mousavi’s comments suggest that Iran does not seek confrontation but remains vigilant and prepared to counter any form of aggression, particularly from Washington and Tel Aviv.

Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts continue internationally to ease tensions, but the ambassador’s statement serves as a reminder of the fragile security environment in the region. Iran’s commitment to self-defense is deeply rooted in its historical experiences and geopolitical realities, which have often placed it at odds with Western and Israeli interests.

As the situation develops, observers will be closely watching how the US and Israel respond to Iran’s firm messaging. The ambassador’s remarks highlight the delicate balance of power and the ongoing challenges in achieving lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
