Iranian Missile Strikes Target Bahrain’s Capital Amid Rising Gulf Tensions

The Ministry of Interior in Bahrain has confirmed that Iranian missile strikes recently targeted a hotel and two residential buildings in the heart of the Bahraini capital, Manama. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported from the incident, though the attack caused significant alarm among residents and authorities alike. Firefighters swiftly responded to a blaze that erupted in one of the affected apartments, successfully bringing the fire under control before it could spread further.

This latest assault comes amid escalating tensions throughout the Gulf region, where Iran has intensified its use of missile and drone attacks in retaliation to ongoing military operations against it. The strikes highlight the growing volatility in the area, raising concerns over the safety of civilian populations and critical infrastructure. Bahrain, a key US ally in the Gulf, has found itself increasingly in the crosshairs of these confrontations.

In a detailed statement issued on Thursday, the Bahrain Defence Force revealed that since the onset of these Iranian-led attacks, their air defence systems have successfully intercepted a staggering total of 75 missiles and 123 drones aimed at Bahraini territory. This impressive feat underscores the high state of alert and operational readiness maintained by Bahrain’s military forces, who continue to safeguard the kingdom’s airspace with vigilance and precision.

The Defence Force condemned the use of ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles against civilian areas and private properties, labeling these actions as grave violations of international humanitarian law and the principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter. Officials stressed that such aggressive tactics not only threaten Bahrain’s national security but also jeopardize broader regional peace and stability, potentially drawing neighboring countries into further conflict.

In response to the ongoing threat, Bahraini authorities have issued public safety advisories urging citizens to remain indoors and limit outdoor activities unless absolutely necessary. Residents are being advised to exercise heightened caution and stay alert to any emergency instructions, as the government continues to monitor the situation closely and coordinate defensive measures to protect the population.

These developments come at a time when the Gulf region is witnessing a surge in proxy conflicts and military exchanges, with Bahrain caught in the middle due to its strategic alliances and geographical proximity to Iran. The international community remains watchful, calling for restraint and dialogue to prevent further escalation that could destabilize the already fragile security environment in the Middle East.
