Pak Army Strikes Afghan Taliban Brigade HQ in Kandahar, Targets Ammunition Depots

The Pakistan Army has escalated its ongoing military campaign against the Afghan Taliban, successfully demolishing the brigade headquarters of the 205 Corps located in Kandahar. This targeted operation, carried out on Thursday, forms part of the broader offensive known as Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, aimed at dismantling militant infrastructure across the porous border region.

In addition to the destruction of the brigade headquarters, security forces launched precise strikes on multiple ammunition depots belonging to the Taliban. These depots were critical to sustaining the militant group’s combat capabilities, and their destruction has dealt a significant blow to the Taliban’s logistical and operational strength in southern Afghanistan.

Earlier statements from Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, shed light on the scale and impact of the ongoing campaign. Since the inception of Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, Pakistani forces have reportedly eliminated 481 Taliban operatives. Furthermore, they have dismantled 226 Taliban checkpoints and successfully seized control of 35 others, disrupting the militants’ control over key transit routes and strongholds.

Security officials have emphasized that the Pakistan Army is maintaining a robust combination of ground offensives and aerial bombardments to target Taliban fighters and affiliated groups, including those labeled as Fitna al-Khawarij. These coordinated efforts are designed to prevent militant regrouping and to secure the border areas from insurgent activities that have long threatened regional stability.

Moreover, the operation has extended to strategic locations beyond Kandahar, with reports confirming a successful strike on the Bagram Air Base, a site of considerable tactical importance in Afghanistan. This strike underscores the Pakistan Army’s commitment to neutralizing key Taliban assets and disrupting their operational command centers.

Overall, these military actions reflect Pakistan’s intensified resolve to counter cross-border militancy and to safeguard its national security interests. The continued offensive aims to weaken Taliban influence in the region and to prevent the spillover of violence into Pakistani territory, which has been a persistent concern for Islamabad in recent years.
