Field Marshal Asim Munir made a significant visit to Wana in South Waziristan on Wednesday, where he conducted a thorough review of the security landscape along Pakistan’s western frontier. This high-profile inspection focused on evaluating the operational readiness of troops stationed in this sensitive border region, which has long been a hotspot for militant activity and cross-border tensions.

Upon his arrival, the Field Marshal was warmly welcomed by the Corps Commander Peshawar, underscoring the critical importance of strong coordination and unity among military formations deployed along the volatile frontier. This meeting highlighted the ongoing efforts to maintain high morale and seamless cooperation between different units tasked with securing the border areas.

During his visit, the Field Marshal received a detailed briefing covering various aspects of the current security environment. This included updates on intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling militant networks, border management strategies, and the latest developments related to the Pak-Afghan border dynamics. Particular attention was given to Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq, a key military initiative targeting insurgent elements operating in the region.

In addition to strategic discussions, Field Marshal Munir personally engaged with officers and soldiers stationed in forward positions. He praised their professionalism, vigilance, and unwavering dedication despite the ongoing skirmishes and challenging conditions. His commendation of their steadfastness served as a morale booster, reinforcing the vital role these troops play in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and contributing to regional stability.

The Field Marshal also addressed the persistent threat posed by militant groups using Afghan territory as a base for launching terrorist activities against Pakistan. He strongly condemned the exploitation of Afghan soil by groups such as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan, emphasizing that such acts of terrorism are intolerable. He reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to take all necessary measures to counter and neutralize these cross-border threats effectively.

Furthermore, he stressed that lasting peace along the border can only be achieved if the Afghan Taliban halt their support for terrorist organizations operating against Pakistan. This statement reflects the ongoing challenges in bilateral relations and the complex security dynamics in the region.

As part of his visit, Field Marshal Munir paid homage to the fallen heroes by laying a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument. He offered Fateha and honored the sacrifices made by martyrs who laid down their lives defending the motherland. He reaffirmed that their sacrifices form the foundation of Pakistan’s security and resilience, inspiring continued vigilance and commitment among the armed forces.

Expressing confidence in the Pakistan Army’s operational capabilities, the Field Marshal highlighted the combat readiness, coordination, and resilience of the formations deployed along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. His visit serves as a clear message of the military’s dedication to maintaining national security and operational excellence in one of the country’s most challenging frontier environments.

This comprehensive inspection underscores the Pakistan Army’s ongoing commitment to securing the nation’s borders, ensuring peace, and countering terrorism through proactive and coordinated efforts. The visit also reflects the broader strategic priorities of the military leadership in addressing evolving threats and sustaining stability in the region.
