This high-level gathering comes amid rising concerns over Pakistan’s response to provocative actions by the Afghan Taliban along the shared border, as well as the intensifying conflict in the Middle East. Sanaullah emphasized that the invitation was extended on direct instructions from the Prime Minister, underscoring the importance of a unified approach across political divides. He urged opposition leaders to participate with an open mind, setting aside partisan interests to focus on national security priorities.
In preparation for the meeting, opposition figures have been encouraged to consult with their parliamentary colleagues to formulate a collective stance. This campaign targets Afghan Taliban militants and Fitna al-Khawarij insurgents responsible for recent incursions and attacks along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Since the launch of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, Pakistani security forces have reported significant successes, including the elimination of 464 Afghan Taliban fighters and injuries to over 660 militants.
