The Punjab government has issued a comprehensive directive to all public sector hospitals throughout the province, mandating them to remain on high alert and ensure full operational readiness at all times. This decision comes as part of a proactive approach to address the ongoing challenges and to safeguard public health effectively.

Under the official instructions, emergency departments, surgical operation theaters, and trauma centers must be kept fully functional around the clock. This measure aims to guarantee that hospitals can respond immediately to any medical emergencies or sudden influxes of patients requiring urgent care. The government has stressed the importance of maintaining these critical facilities in a state of constant preparedness.

In addition to infrastructure readiness, the directive highlights the necessity of having specialist doctors available at all times. Hospitals are required to ensure that expert medical professionals, including surgeons, emergency physicians, and trauma specialists, are present and ready to provide their services without delay. Furthermore, the availability of essential medicines and medical supplies has been prioritized to avoid any shortages that could hinder patient care.

The order also calls on all administrative and healthcare staff to remain vigilant and responsive. Medical personnel and hospital management are urged to coordinate closely and act swiftly in the event of any emergency situation. This heightened state of alertness is designed to facilitate a seamless and efficient response, minimizing risks to patients and improving overall healthcare outcomes.

Officials have reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting the lives of citizens through a well-coordinated strategy that combines readiness, rapid response, and uninterrupted healthcare services. This initiative reflects the provincial administration’s dedication to strengthening the healthcare system and ensuring that public hospitals are fully equipped to handle any crisis that may arise.

As Punjab continues to face various health challenges, this directive serves as a crucial step in reinforcing the province’s medical infrastructure. By keeping all public hospitals on emergency alert, the government aims to enhance the resilience of healthcare facilities and provide timely medical assistance to those in need across the region.
