Security forces have neutralized three terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan, including a key commander, during an operation in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Monday. The operation targeted a terrorist vehicle using a quadcopter, resulting in the complete destruction of the vehicle and the elimination of the militants.

Among those killed was commander Naqeeb, a significant figure within the militant group. Authorities emphasized that operations against insurgents will persist until every militant threat is eradicated from the region.

This operation follows a series of intelligence-driven actions earlier in September, where security forces eliminated at least 11 militants linked to the Indian-backed Fitna al-Hindustan group in Kharan and Washuk districts. These operations took place on September 6 and 7, aiming to dismantle the network of terrorists operating in Balochistan.

Since the Taliban’s takeover in Afghanistan in 2021, Pakistan has experienced a rise in terrorist activities, particularly in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan. A recent report from the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) highlighted that these two provinces were the epicenters of violence during the second quarter of 2026.

The report revealed that KP and Balochistan accounted for nearly 96% of all fatalities related to violent incidents nationwide during this period. KP alone recorded over 61% of these deaths, totaling 475, while Balochistan accounted for 34%, with 265 fatalities. Furthermore, KP experienced the highest number of violent incidents at 151 cases, representing 57% of the country’s total, followed by Balochistan with 94 incidents, or 35%.

These statistics underscore the persistent concentration of militant activity in these two provinces, prompting continued and intensified security operations to restore stability.
