A Karachi court has ordered a two-day physical remand for a man accused of murdering his wife by hitting her with an iron rod. The suspect, 63-year-old Asghar Ali, appeared before the Judicial Magistrate (West), who granted the police custody for further investigation.
During the hearing, police stated that they are still verifying the suspect’s criminal record as part of the ongoing inquiry. Notably, Asghar Ali has admitted to the crime, and authorities have already recovered the iron rod believed to be the murder weapon.
The accused has been formally charged with murder in a case registered at the Pakistan Bazaar police station following a complaint lodged by the state. The incident occurred in Orangi Town, specifically within the jurisdiction of the Pakka Qila police station, in Sector 11.5, Ghaziabad.

Officers then accompanied him back to the residence, where they found the victim’s body and transported it to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal procedures.
The deceased has been identified as 58-year-old Asma Begum, a mother of four children. The suspect turned himself in on Thursday following the fatal incident in Orangi Town.
