A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday when a 12-year-old boy was fatally struck by a speeding tractor-trolley near the Karachi Police Office (KPO). Initial accounts mistakenly placed the accident on Shahrah-e-Faisal, but police later confirmed it happened on an internal link road directly in front of the KPO.
The Saddar police revealed that the boy lived in nearby Faisal Apartments. He had been riding his bicycle out of the residential complex onto the link road when the collision took place. The tractor-trolley, which was carrying water and owned by the Cantonment Board, was moving at a high speed. The driver reportedly failed to notice the young cyclist in time, leading to a severe impact that caused the child’s immediate death.
Rescue teams promptly transported the boy’s body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for necessary legal and medical procedures. Meanwhile, law enforcement secured the scene and apprehended the tractor-trolley driver. The vehicle has been seized as authorities launched formal legal action and initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
