A police investigation into the special protocol extended to alleged drug suspect Anmol, also known as “Pinky,” during her initial court appearance has identified multiple officers responsible and recommended both disciplinary and legal proceedings.

The inquiry report, prepared by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) West Irfan Baloch and submitted to senior officials, includes statements from 17 police personnel, among them Karachi City Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ali Hassan and the SP Investigation City.

The report specifically holds the district SSP, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Garden police station, and the station investigation officer accountable for the incident. Notably, it also reveals that CCTV footage from Garden police station, which should have recorded the suspect’s arrival and transfer to court, is missing.

the findings, the suspect was granted special protocol during her court appearance, which has negatively impacted the police force’s reputation. The report recommends departmental and legal action against Garden SHO Hanif Siyal and calls for a separate inquiry into his conduct.

Furthermore, the inquiry found that two suspended female police officers assigned to escort the suspect lacked training for managing high-profile cases and were unaware of her background. It also highlighted procedural lapses, including the incomplete processing of the suspect’s criminal record office (CRO) documentation after her arrest and a failure by operations police to inform investigation officers.

In a related development, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has launched an investigation against two personnel over alleged connections with the suspect. Assistant Sub-Inspector Kafeel and Constable Ali Qureshi, both stationed at CTD Civil Lines, are being probed for reportedly maintaining contact with her.
