Sindh Rangers have apprehended five individuals alleged to be part of a criminal gang responsible for numerous robberies and street crimes in Karachi’s North Nazimabad and Niazi Manzil areas. The suspects are connected to the notorious “Tees Mar Khan and Commando gang,” which has been active in various city locations, including busy markets and crowded neighborhoods.

During the operation, authorities seized several items from the detainees, including one unlicensed .30 bore pistol, two licensed 9mm pistols, five magazines, and 28 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, five mobile phones and an undisclosed sum of cash were confiscated.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the arrested individuals were involved in a string of robberies in areas such as Hyderabad Market, Godhra Chowk, and Gulberg Town. These crimes often involved coordinated attacks on citizens in public spaces.

Further inquiries revealed that the suspects admitted to committing multiple street crimes near the Serena Mobile Market in Nazimabad and adjacent localities. Their criminal activities reportedly included snatching motorcycles, cars, rickshaws, and mobile phones from residents.

Among those detained, Muhammad Shan stands out as a key figure accused of supplying illegal weapons to criminal groups throughout the city. He is also implicated in the trade of stolen motorcycles, suggesting the existence of a broader network involved in vehicle theft and trafficking.

Officials estimate that the gang has been responsible for around 500 robbery cases, with victims losing motorcycles, mobile phones, and cash totaling nearly Rs4 million. The suspects are also believed to have resisted victims during these incidents, resulting in injuries to at least five or six individuals.

The Rangers described the arrested men as habitual offenders with extensive criminal records. Multiple cases have been registered against them at various police stations in Karachi, highlighting their involvement in organized street crime.

Authorities are continuing efforts to locate and apprehend other gang members who remain at large. The recovered weapons, ammunition, and stolen goods have been handed over to police for further investigation and legal action.

This operation forms part of ongoing security measures aimed at reducing street crime and dismantling organized criminal networks operating within Karachi’s urban areas.
