A new peer-reviewed study has linked exposure to a newer generation of plasticizers, described as allegedly safe, to lower birth weight and fetal development complications. The study said these effects could lead to serious health problems later in life.

Health risks from common phthalate plasticizers became clear over the past few decades. The industry then moved to Dinch, which it described as a “high safety”, nontoxic alternative.

Dinch is widely used in soft plastic food packaging in the United States and European Union. It is also found in children’s toys, medical devices, some textiles, flooring and other consumer goods.
