Princess Bajrakitiyabha, the eldest daughter of Thailand’s King Vajiralongkorn, has passed away after remaining in a coma for more than three years. The princess collapsed in December 2022 while exercising her dogs, an incident that led to her prolonged unconscious state. Her condition had drawn significant attention both within Thailand and internationally due to her prominent royal status and active role in public service.

In a significant development, her death marks a somber moment for the Thai royal family, which has been closely followed by the nation. Princess Bajrakitiyabha was known for her involvement in humanitarian and legal affairs, often representing the monarchy in various capacities. Her incapacitation and eventual passing have left a notable void in the royal household and among her supporters.

Meanwhile, the princess’s health crisis highlighted the vulnerability of even the most prominent figures and sparked widespread concern across Thailand. Her death may have implications for the royal succession and the future roles of other members of the monarchy. The event underscores the deep connection between the Thai people and their royal family, reflecting the enduring significance of the monarchy in Thailand’s cultural and political landscape.
