Whirlpool announced on Friday that it will invest more than $60 million in an Ohio manufacturing facility dedicated to producing parts for its washers and dryers. This new factory will become the company’s 11th manufacturing site in the United States and its sixth in Ohio, generating between 100 and 150 new jobs.

Marc Bitzer, CEO of the Benton Harbor, Michigan-based appliance maker, emphasized the company’s strong commitment to domestic manufacturing. Bitzer, known for supporting President Donald Trump’s tariff policies, made the announcement during an event held at Whirlpool’s large washing machine plant in Clyde, Ohio. The event was also attended by US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, who has been touring the Midwest to promote the administration’s initiatives to strengthen domestic manufacturing.

In a related development, Whirlpool revealed in October a separate $300 million investment aimed at expanding capacity within its existing laundry-related operations. Whirlpool Corporation is a leading American multinational manufacturer and marketer of home appliances, headquartered in Benton Charter Township, Michigan.

In 2023, the Fortune 500 company reported annual revenues of approximately $19 billion, employed around 59,000 people worldwide, and operated more than 55 manufacturing and technology research centers globally. The company markets its flagship Whirlpool brand alongside several other well-known appliance brands.
