Delegations from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries arrived in Islamabad today to take part in the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women, scheduled for July 12 and 13. Pakistan is hosting this two-day event, which will convene ministers, senior government officials, and representatives from international organizations across the OIC.

The conference aims to address key issues surrounding the social, economic, and political empowerment of women. Participants will review the progress made in advancing women’s development, exchange successful national strategies, and deliberate on a future roadmap to strengthen collaboration among OIC member states on women’s issues.

Upon arrival, Minister of State Barrister Aqeel Malik, along with Saba Sadiq, Farah Naz Akbar, and other senior officials, warmly welcomed the visiting delegations. In a significant development, Pakistan reiterated its dedication to upholding the rights, dignity, and empowerment of women throughout the OIC community.

Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar will preside over the ministerial conference, with Pakistan leading efforts to enhance cooperation among member states during its presidency. The government has extended a cordial welcome to all delegations participating in this important conference.
