UAE Ends Travel Ban, Allows Nationals to Visit Lebanon with Conditions

The United Arab Emirates has officially lifted its travel restrictions on citizens visiting Lebanon, permitting trips to resume immediately starting Monday, June 29, 2026. This decision was announced by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of ongoing efforts to enhance diplomatic relations following a period of regional tensions that had led to temporary travel bans.

Travelers are now required to register their details through the ministry’s Twajudi emergency response platform before departure. This registration process mandates providing information such as the intended address in Lebanon, the purpose of the visit, and emergency contact details. Failure to complete this procedure will result in denial of boarding at UAE airports and could lead to legal repercussions.

Authorities stress that these measures aim to safeguard the welfare of Emirati nationals abroad. Those already in Lebanon or traveling via third countries must also comply with the registration requirements and update their information as necessary.

In a significant development, this move reverses the travel ban imposed in April 2026 due to security concerns stemming from regional developments. Notably, a previous long-term restriction on travel to Lebanon was lifted in May 2025 after high-level diplomatic engagements, including a visit by the Lebanese president to the UAE. Despite the easing of restrictions, the ministry continues to advise citizens to remain cautious and adhere to official guidelines while traveling.
