In a recent telephone conversation, Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reaffirmed the enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, emphasizing their collaborative efforts toward regional peace.

Dar highlighted the “time-tested” friendship between the two nations, noting their joint initiatives across various sectors such as connectivity, infrastructure, energy, and digital cooperation. He emphasized that the leadership of both countries is committed to advancing economic development and enhancing regional collaboration.

Particularly, Dar described the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a transformative project for Pakistan’s energy sector. He further revealed that China is progressing toward establishing a “digital corridor” designed to strengthen technological and economic integration between the two countries.

Additionally, Dar mentioned Pakistan’s close cooperation with China in education and healthcare sectors, aiming to equip younger generations with modern technological skills. He pointed out that Pakistan’s digital economy is expanding rapidly, making the country an appealing destination for digital investments. The proposed digital corridor is expected to generate new avenues for investment and employment.

Dar also acknowledged China’s consistent support for Pakistan during challenging times.

Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian conveyed that Wang Yi praised Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran and in helping to extend a temporary ceasefire in the region. Wang expressed hope that Pakistan would continue its mediation efforts to address issues related to the Strait of Hormuz and contribute to restoring peace in the region.

Wang affirmed China’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives and its contributions toward reducing tensions in the Middle East. These statements come amid increasing regional uncertainty and growing international concerns over stability in the Gulf and global energy supply routes.
