PTI’s Salman Akram Raja Denies Aleema Khan’s Allegations, Defends Party Strategy

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has firmly denied all accusations made against him by Aleema Khan, the sister of party founder Imran Khan. Expressing his frustration over the criticism related to his role within the party, Raja stated that he rejects such claims and emphasized that he is not motivated by holding any titles.

He categorically dismissed the allegation that he was aiding the government, calling it completely baseless. In a significant development, Raja defended the decision to cancel the April 9 rally, affirming that it was the correct call made by the party founder himself.

Raja further commented that Aleema Khan’s remarks were misguided, implying that she lacks a comprehensive understanding of political strategy. He stressed that the current priority is to organize the party efficiently, which he described as the “need of the hour.”

Addressing concerns about mass protests, Raja warned that mobilizing crowds of 10,000 to 20,000 people in a city would only result in casualties without achieving meaningful outcomes. He clarified that he never sought the position of Secretary General and had, in fact, submitted his resignation earlier.

Notably, Raja revealed that on Imran Khan’s instructions, the founder’s three sisters visited his office to request that he withdraw his resignation. He also mentioned that he has communicated with Aleema Khan, explaining that the role was imposed on him and that he has no desire to continue in it. Raja intends to formally present his resignation to Imran Khan during their upcoming meeting.

Looking ahead, Raja stated that the party is in the process of refining its political strategy. He highlighted the importance of reintegrating key allies such as Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and Mahmood Khan Achakzai to strengthen the party’s position.
