    PM Shehbaz and Canadian PM Carney Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

    Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a telephonic discussion with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Tuesday, focusing on mutual interests and the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two countries.

    During the conversation, Prime Minister Carney commended Pakistan’s diplomatic role in promoting regional stability, particularly emphasizing Islamabad’s contribution to the recent temporary ceasefire and subsequent negotiations between the United States and Iran.

    In a significant development, the Canadian leader acknowledged Pakistan’s proactive peace initiatives as crucial in reducing tensions in the Middle East. He highlighted that Pakistan’s mediation efforts were key in facilitating constructive dialogue between Washington and Tehran. In response, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to global peace and security, underscoring that regional stability remains a fundamental objective of the country’s foreign policy.

    Meanwhile, the two leaders expressed a shared commitment to broadening the scope of cooperation between Pakistan and Canada. They agreed on the importance of strengthening partnerships in vital sectors such as agriculture, clean energy, mineral development, and foreign investment. Both emphasized the significant untapped potential within their economic relationship that could yield mutual benefits.

    To further cement these ties, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended a formal invitation to Prime Minister Carney for an official visit to Pakistan at the earliest opportunity, aiming to advance their strategic partnership and economic collaboration.
