Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif extended warm Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to Muslims across Pakistan and around the globe, encouraging everyone to embrace simplicity in their celebrations this year. She underscored the importance of modest festivities in light of the ongoing regional tensions that have cast a shadow over the usual joyous atmosphere associated with the festival. Her message, delivered on Saturday, reflected a deep hope that Eid would usher in peace and lasting happiness for Muslims everywhere.

She revealed that nearly four million families, encompassing approximately 20 million individuals, have received financial aid through various government programs. This large-scale assistance aims to alleviate hardships and ensure that more people can partake in the Eid celebrations with dignity.

One of the notable innovations introduced this year is the “Maryam Ko Batayein” program, which for the first time allows eligible individuals to receive immediate financial support amounting to Rs10,000 via digital payment platforms. This initiative represents a significant step towards leveraging technology to provide timely help to those in need, reflecting the government’s commitment to inclusive welfare and social upliftment.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that caring for the disadvantaged is not only a moral and religious duty but also a national obligation that strengthens the fabric of society. She urged citizens to actively participate in supporting underprivileged families within their communities, reinforcing the values of brotherhood and compassion that Eid promotes. her, expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah during this auspicious occasion is best done through acts of kindness and solidarity.

In addition to her message of charity and unity, the Chief Minister paid homage to the brave individuals who have sacrificed their lives for the country. She acknowledged that their sacrifices remain etched in the nation’s collective memory, even during times of celebration, reminding everyone of the cost of peace and security. Concluding her message, Maryam Nawaz prayed for continued peace, stability, and prosperity for Muslims worldwide, calling for unity and harmony within the global Muslim community, or ummah.
