Adin Ross Takes Legal Action Against TMZ Over False Report on Sister’s Death

Popular streamer Adin Ross has initiated legal proceedings against the celebrity news outlet TMZ following the publication of inaccurate information regarding the death of his sister, Madelyn Ross. The incident, which has caused significant distress to Ross and his family, revolves around TMZ’s report that prematurely disclosed sensitive details about Madelyn’s passing, an event Ross insists should have remained private.

During a heartfelt livestream on Sunday, Ross openly addressed the controversy, revealing his intention to pursue legal action not only against TMZ but also against other parties involved in leaking the information. He expressed deep frustration over the breach of trust, stating that the tragic event occurred months ago and was something he had chosen to keep within his close circle. “This happened a couple of months ago, and I didn’t want to share it publicly. It was a private matter,” Ross explained, emphasizing the emotional toll the situation has taken on him.

Ross further accused someone within his personal network of selling private information to TMZ, a claim that adds a layer of betrayal to the already painful circumstances. He vowed to uncover the identity of the individual responsible and confirmed that his legal action would extend beyond the media outlet to include those who facilitated the leak. “It’s awful that someone close to me was paid to release this information to TMZ. I don’t know who it is yet, but I’m determined to find out. I’m suing TMZ, the county, and multiple others,” he declared during the broadcast.

In addition to targeting TMZ, Ross launched a scathing critique of the organization’s journalistic ethics and its founder, using strong language to condemn what he perceives as a pattern of invasive and exploitative reporting. He called for accountability and suggested that the outlet’s behavior reflects a broader disregard for privacy and respect. “It’s time to put these people in check. I don’t know who they think they are, acting like they own people’s lives,” Ross remarked, highlighting the emotional damage caused by such sensationalism.

The initial TMZ report claimed that Madelyn Ross passed away on January 15 in Broward County, Florida, citing information from the Broward County Medical Examiner’s office. Madelyn was 36 years old at the time of her death and was one of three sisters, including influencer Naomi Ross, with whom Adin Ross was raised. The official cause and manner of her death remain undetermined as investigations are still ongoing, leaving many questions unanswered.

Following the report, Ross had previously alluded to the pain of losing a loved one during a livestream, though he did not disclose specific details at that time. This recent public confrontation with TMZ sheds light on the challenges public figures face in protecting their private lives amid intense media scrutiny. The case also raises important discussions about media responsibility and the ethical boundaries of reporting on personal tragedies.
