Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif personally visited the home of the late senior politician and former provincial minister Zaeem Qadri on Sunday to offer his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family. This solemn visit came as a mark of respect for Qadri’s enduring contributions to the political landscape of Punjab and Pakistan at large. The prime minister’s presence underscored the high regard in which Qadri was held by the nation’s leadership.

During his meeting with the bereaved family, Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his deepest sympathies and prayed for the departed soul’s elevation in the hereafter. He also wished strength and patience upon the family members during this difficult time, recognizing the profound loss they have endured. The prime minister emphasized that Zaeem Qadri’s unwavering dedication to democratic principles and public service would remain a lasting legacy in Pakistan’s political history.

Accompanying the prime minister were Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Talha Burki, both of whom joined in expressing their condolences and paying tribute to Qadri’s impactful career. Their presence highlighted the collective mourning within the government and political circles over the loss of such a respected figure.

Zaeem Qadri, who passed away on February 13, 2026, due to a sudden cardiac arrest, was a prominent leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N). His political journey included serving as a member of the Punjab Assembly and holding ministerial responsibilities at the provincial level. Throughout his tenure, Qadri was known for his commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and advocating for the welfare of the public.

Following his death, funeral prayers for Zaeem Qadri were held in Lahore, where numerous political leaders, colleagues, and citizens gathered to pay their final respects. He was laid to rest at the historic Miani Sahib graveyard, a resting place for many notable personalities in the city. His passing has left a significant void in the political community, reflecting the respect and admiration he earned over decades of service.

It is worth noting that Zaeem Qadri’s contributions extended beyond politics; he was regarded as a figure who worked tirelessly for democratic values and the betterment of society. His legacy continues to inspire many within the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and beyond, as leaders and citizens alike remember his dedication and efforts to uphold democratic governance in the country.
