Seven Lose Lives in Tragic Head-On Collision on Makran Coastal Highway

GWADAR: A fatal road accident on the Makran Coastal Highway has resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, including a young child, following a severe head-on collision between two vehicles. The incident occurred in the Maneji area, a stretch of the highway known for its challenging driving conditions. Authorities confirmed that the crash involved multiple casualties and left several others injured.

the coastal highway police, the collision was triggered by an out-of-service bowser that had been improperly parked along the roadside, creating a hazardous obstruction for oncoming traffic. This unexpected obstacle forced drivers to take evasive action, ultimately leading to the tragic crash. Emergency responders rushed to the scene promptly, managing to transport both the injured and the deceased to Ormara hospital for medical treatment and post-mortem procedures.

Among the injured are eight individuals, including a woman, who are currently receiving medical care. The police have been actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine the exact sequence of events and to prevent similar incidents in the future. The presence of the parked bowser on such a busy highway has raised serious concerns about road safety and vehicle regulation enforcement in the region.

This recent tragedy echoes a similar fatal accident that took place earlier this year in January near Yakmuch, within Balochistan’s Dalbandin district. In that incident, a collision between two luxury vehicles claimed the lives of seven people, including three women and two children, while injuring three others. Such recurring accidents highlight the persistent dangers faced by travelers on Balochistan’s highways, where road infrastructure and traffic management often fall short of safety standards.

Efforts to improve road safety on the Makran Coastal Highway have been ongoing, given its importance as a major transportation route connecting coastal towns and facilitating trade. However, incidents like this underline the urgent need for stricter regulations regarding vehicle parking, better road signage, and enhanced driver awareness campaigns. The local authorities have pledged to increase patrols and implement measures to safeguard commuters along this vital corridor.

As investigations continue, the community mourns the loss of lives in this unfortunate accident. The tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the risks associated with road travel in the region and the critical importance of maintaining clear and safe roadways to protect all road users.
