Iran Unleashes Khorramshahr, Kheibar, and Fattah Missiles in Major Strike on Israel

Tehran has once again demonstrated its growing missile capabilities by launching a series of powerful missiles as part of the 22nd wave of “Operation True Promise 4,” a significant phase in its ongoing military campaign directed against Israel and U.S.-linked targets in the region. This latest offensive highlights Iran’s commitment to escalating its retaliatory strikes amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that this recent wave involved the deployment of multiple ballistic and hypersonic missiles, including the formidable Khorramshahr-4, the precision-guided Kheibar missile, and the advanced Fattah hypersonic missile. These launches were strategically aimed at key Israeli locations, particularly around Tel Aviv and its surrounding military installations, underscoring Tehran’s focus on high-value targets.

Visual evidence of the missile launches quickly spread across social media platforms and regional news outlets, capturing striking images of missiles ascending into the night sky from undisclosed launch sites. The bright flames and dense smoke trails left behind painted a dramatic picture of Iran’s missile prowess. The IRGC framed this operation as a direct response to recent U.S. and Israeli military activities targeting Iranian interests, emphasizing the retaliatory nature of the strikes.

Among the missiles fired, the Khorramshahr-4 stands out as one of Iran’s most powerful weapons. This heavy ballistic missile can carry a warhead weighing approximately 1,000 kilograms and boasts an impressive range of nearly 2,000 kilometers. Such capabilities enable it to strike deep into Israeli territory and beyond, covering significant portions of the Middle East. Iranian officials indicated that this missile was a key component of the assault, aimed at disrupting critical infrastructure and military assets.

The missile barrage reportedly targeted strategic sites including Ben Gurion Airport, a vital civilian and military hub near Tel Aviv, as well as various military facilities in the vicinity. Iranian sources further claimed that some missiles successfully breached Israel’s sophisticated multi-layered air defense systems during earlier phases of the operation, signaling potential vulnerabilities in the Israeli defense network.

In addition to the heavy ballistic missiles, Iran showcased its cutting-edge Fattah hypersonic missile, which is designed to travel at extremely high velocities while maneuvering mid-flight to avoid interception. This missile represents a significant advancement in Iran’s arsenal, with Tehran promoting it as capable of circumventing existing missile defense systems, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of its strikes.

The Kheibar missile, also deployed in this operation, is believed to be a precision-guided weapon capable of delivering large payloads with remarkable accuracy. Its inclusion in the attack underscores Iran’s emphasis on precision targeting to maximize damage to strategic sites while minimizing collateral impact.

Iran’s “Operation True Promise” campaign has unfolded in multiple waves since the outbreak of the current conflict, involving coordinated missile and drone strikes against Israeli territory and U.S.-linked positions throughout the region. Tehran describes these actions as retaliatory measures in response to ongoing military pressure from the United States and Israel, reflecting the deepening hostilities that continue to fuel instability in the Middle East.

As these exchanges of fire persist, regional tensions remain alarmingly high, raising fears that the conflict could escalate further and draw in additional actors. The recent missile launches serve as a stark reminder of the fragile security environment and the potential for broader confrontation in an already volatile region.
