Federal Schools and Colleges in Islamabad to Close for Extended Spring Break

The federal government has officially declared a spring holiday period for all educational institutions operating under the Federal Directorate of Education in Islamabad. This announcement confirms that schools and colleges managed by the federal authorities will remain closed from March 24 through March 27. Classes are scheduled to resume on March 30, following the conclusion of the break.

This decision comes as part of a broader effort to synchronize the spring vacation with the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations, providing students, teachers, and staff with an extended period of rest and festivity. By aligning these holidays, the government aims to offer a seamless transition between the academic break and the religious festivities, allowing families more time to prepare and celebrate together.

All federal educational institutions in Islamabad, including both schools and colleges under the jurisdiction of the Federal Directorate of Education, will observe this closure. This directive ensures uniformity across the capital’s federal education system, preventing any disruption or confusion regarding holiday schedules among students and faculty members.

Officials involved in the planning highlighted that this move is designed to ease the academic calendar and provide a well-deserved respite for educators and learners alike. The extended break is expected to boost morale and allow for better preparation ahead of the final academic term. It also reflects the government’s sensitivity to cultural and religious occasions, recognizing the importance of Eid al-Fitr in the social fabric of Pakistan.

As the spring break coincides closely with Eid festivities, families will benefit from the additional days off, facilitating travel and communal gatherings that are central to the holiday. The Federal Directorate of Education has urged all institutions to communicate the holiday schedule clearly to students and parents to ensure smooth adherence to the announced dates.

With this announcement, the federal government reiterates its commitment to balancing educational priorities with cultural observances, ensuring that the academic environment remains supportive and responsive to the needs of its community during significant national events.
