Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, underscored the pivotal role played by the police force in the ongoing battle against terrorism during a high-level meeting held on Monday. The session focused on reviewing the current law and order situation across the province, with Afridi reiterating his government’s commitment to backing law enforcement agencies with all necessary resources and support.

During the meeting, Afridi stressed the importance of safeguarding the lives and property of the citizens, highlighting that public safety remains a top priority for his administration. He emphasized that the police are at the forefront of maintaining peace and security, especially given the complex challenges posed by terrorist threats in the region. The Chief Minister made it clear that no effort would be spared in strengthening the capabilities of the police to effectively counter these dangers.

With the holy month of Ramazan underway, Afridi called for meticulous and foolproof security arrangements at places of worship and religious gatherings. Recognizing the increased vulnerability during this period, he urged all relevant departments to operate under a well-defined strategy to ensure the safety of worshippers. The Chief Minister assured that the provincial government would allocate full resources to support these security measures, reflecting the administration’s proactive approach to preventing any untoward incidents.

Furthermore, Afridi highlighted the necessity of optimal utilization of existing resources and insisted that all concerned institutions maintain a high state of readiness at all times. This preparedness is crucial to swiftly respond to any emergencies or security threats that may arise. The meeting also served as a platform to coordinate efforts between various departments, ensuring a unified and efficient approach to law enforcement and counterterrorism operations.

The gathering was attended by key officials including the Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, Additional Inspector General of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Additional Chief Secretary Home, and the Additional Inspector General of the Special Branch. Their presence underscored the collaborative effort being made at the highest levels of provincial administration to maintain law and order and enhance public safety throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
