Post-Mortem Confirms 10-Year-Old Girl Died by Hanging in Lahore Tuition Centre

A post-mortem examination conducted on Friday confirmed that a 10-year-old girl found dead at a tuition centre in Lahore’s Ichhra area died due to hanging. The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

Following the autopsy, the authorities handed over the girl’s body to her family. The initial findings revealed a distinct ligature mark on her neck, but no evidence of torture or forced assault was present on her body. Police noted that the washroom door, where the girl was discovered, was unlocked when the incident was reported.

Investigators have collected fingerprints and other forensic evidence from the scene, which have been sent to a laboratory for detailed analysis. Meanwhile, the owner of the property has been taken into custody as part of the ongoing inquiry.

The case was registered as a murder following a complaint by the girl’s father, Muhammad Adnan. The victim, referred to as ‘N,’ had left her home to attend classes at the tuition centre, which is located in a residential house. She had been studying there for approximately one and a half years alongside two other children from the same family.

She was later found unconscious inside the washroom of the centre. Eyewitnesses reported that after teachers and family members noticed her absence, they, along with local residents, forced open the locked washroom door. The girl was immediately taken to a hospital, but doctors declared her dead.

SP Model Town stated that an investigation has been launched, and the motive and details of the incident will become clearer once the inquiry and post-mortem report are finalized.

The victim’s father described receiving a call informing him that his daughter had fainted at the tuition centre. He said she was transported to the hospital on a motorcycle with assistance from local people. He mentioned that doctors inquired about any marks on her neck prior to the incident, but none were present when she left home.

He expressed his belief that someone was responsible for harming his daughter and appealed to the Chief Minister to ensure justice is served. Police have not dismissed any possibilities and are examining all angles of the case.

This tragic death occurs less than two weeks after a roof collapse at another tutoring centre in Lahore resulted in the deaths of 14 children aged between 5 and 16, most of whom were under 9 years old.
