Pakistan Railways has announced a one-day suspension of train services on the Quetta–Sibi section, impacting the Quetta-Peshawar route. This interruption, scheduled for July 9, is due to necessary technical repairs and maintenance work.
As a result, Train No. 39 Down, which departs from Quetta heading towards Peshawar, will not operate on the specified date. Meanwhile, the status of Train No. 40 Up remains uncertain and will be determined based on operational conditions. It is anticipated that this train will run only as far as Jacobabad before continuing towards Peshawar under the designation of Train No. 39 Down, contingent on feasibility.
In a significant development, the railway authorities have assured passengers affected by this disruption that they will receive full refunds without any deductions. This measure aims to mitigate inconvenience caused by the temporary halt.
A spokesperson for Pakistan Railways emphasized that the suspension is essential to carry out critical repair work on the Quetta–Sibi section. Normal train operations will resume promptly once the maintenance is completed.
Passengers are advised to verify the latest train schedules prior to travel. Updates regarding the restoration of services will be communicated as soon as the maintenance work concludes, ensuring travelers remain informed throughout the process.
