On Saturday, a significant security incident unfolded near Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 6 in Karachi, where intense gunfire was heard alongside an explosion. This alarming event triggered an immediate and coordinated response from multiple law enforcement agencies deployed to the area to restore order and investigate the situation.

The incident reportedly took place near Mosmiyat Chowrangi, a busy intersection in the city. In the aftermath, authorities swiftly closed the road stretching from Mosmiyat Chowrangi towards Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 6 and Kamran Chowrangi to prevent civilian movement and maintain safety. Additionally, the connecting route from Mosmiyat Chowrangi to Chaman Iqbal Colony was also sealed off to control the situation effectively.

In a significant development, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah demanded a comprehensive report from the Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Karachi Additional Inspector General (AIG) to understand the circumstances and causes behind the violent episode. The Chief Minister’s spokesperson confirmed that the leadership is closely monitoring the situation to ensure swift action and accountability.

Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar also took prompt steps by requesting an immediate briefing from the Karachi AIG. The involvement of top provincial officials highlights the gravity of the incident and the government’s commitment to addressing security challenges in Karachi’s volatile neighborhoods.
