A police constable lost his life and another was wounded after unidentified militants launched an armed assault on the Narhan police station in Duki district, Balochistan. The attackers reportedly employed advanced weaponry to target the facility.
Security personnel stationed at the police station responded with gunfire, resulting in an exchange of shots. Constable Syed Hassan was killed during the attack, while Constable Muhammad Wali sustained injuries. Both were immediately transported to a hospital, where Hassan was pronounced dead and Wali received medical treatment.
Officials stated that at least three militants were injured during the police’s retaliatory firing. Following the incident, teams from Duki police, the Quick Response Force, district police, and the Frontier Corps (FC) quickly arrived at the scene to secure the area.
In a significant development, a search operation is currently underway to locate and apprehend the militants believed to have fled after the attack. Authorities are also attempting to find those militants reportedly wounded in the firefight. Notably, no group has claimed responsibility for the assault so far.
This attack highlights the ongoing security challenges in parts of Balochistan, where law enforcement agencies have been targeted by militants multiple times in recent months.
