On Saturday, a moderate earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale was felt in Quetta and its surrounding regions. The seismic event occurred at a relatively shallow depth of 14 kilometers, which contributed to the noticeable tremors experienced by residents.

In a significant development, the earthquake’s epicenter was pinpointed to Basima, located in the southwestern part of Balochistan. This area, known for its seismic activity due to its position near tectonic plate boundaries, has experienced similar tremors in the past, though this recent event caused no major disruptions.

Meanwhile, authorities and emergency services quickly assessed the situation, confirming that there were no immediate reports of injuries or structural damage. The prompt response helped reassure the local population, emphasizing the region’s preparedness for such natural occurrences.

Notably, while earthquakes of this magnitude can sometimes cause concern, the absence of damage in this instance highlights the resilience of the affected communities and the effectiveness of building codes in quake-prone areas. Residents remain vigilant as monitoring continues to ensure safety in the days ahead.
